After sinking to the ocean floor and decomposing, they accumulated layers of sediment that formed balls or nodules. After eventually getting exposed to air these nodules dried out and cracked, and calcite deposits formed inside these cracks in distinct swirls and branching patterns.

This is a bit of a statement piece. It appears to be machined out of a solid piece of metal. Gold toned, it shows you have arrived. It is a bit weighty. It can hold a large ring cigar; a Robusto would be no problem. A Churchill would be too long. It does the job. It comes with a dropper for the distilled water and some Ziploc type bags (not sure why they are included). It's worth the selling price of $8.90 . Great as a gift as well.
