Having the drawers was a bonus to keep small items organized. The height is sufficient to slide books, papers and such underneath. Top shelf is long enough to not only hold dual monitors but also a few decorative items. It’s also just right for a 43” wide desk but not so wide that it eats up your keyboard or writing surface.
